Dubai is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Town is located south of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula and has the largest population with the second-largest land territory by area of all the Emirates, after Abu Dhabi. After 1966. when oil was discovered economy led to a massive influx of foreign workers, quickly expanding the city by 300% and bringing in international oil interests.
Dubai is also a hub for service industries such as information technology and finance, with industry-specific free zones throughout the city. DIC (Dubai Internet City) and DMC (Dubai Media City) are zones which include most popular worldwide ICT companies and famous media organisation houses. The governments decision to diversify from a trade-based, oil-reliant economy to one that is service and tourism-oriented made property more valuable. Dubai means Business!
